Story Book Land!!!

We finally took our boo bear to Story Book Land!

It's a cute little amusement park for kids in South NJ and it was adorable! I'm actually happy we went this time of year too b/c I think it would be to crowded in the summer for the size of the rides. It's a small park but from a kids perspective so much to do! :-) What was very exciting was we took her opening day for 'Holiday celebration' and Santa came! He was up in the window and turned on all of the lights!! Miranda LOVED how everything lit up so pretty!

After Santa turned on the lights, we began to go on the rides! First up - Tea Cups with Daddy!!!

Then came Carousel with mommy!

Me and My Girl :-)
Miranda drove an old car (by herself of course!), rode the choo choo train, and also became santa's helper on his sleigh!!

Ferris Wheel with daddy!

And of course, we had to take the perfect picture with 'santa' :-)

We had such a fun afternoon/evening!!

School Thanksgiving Party

Miranda and I attended her 1st school thanksgiving party! Her fav teachers were there plus some of her friends too :) I met two of the moms as Miranda is in a new class and we don't know many people yet. Miranda ate turkey & grapes! Haha! But she was happy :)

A good time was had by all :)

Thenext day at school, Miranda brought in treats for her and her friends! A cookie cake for her teachers to say Thank You for all they do, and Mickey Mouse Face cookies for her friends:-)

Me likey shoppy :)

I have good stores, but the area I grew up in has GREAT stores, including Crate & Barrel! Needless to say my time up north also consisted of a little shopping for holidays :)

Halloween - Parts 1, 2 & 3!

So Halloween was postponed in the whole state of NJ due to the awful Hurricane Sandy.....Due to this, we improvised our Halloween Plans:

Part 1 -
On Halloween we actually were still without power, so we went to go stay my mom about an hour north who still had power. I brought Miranda's costume and when we got to her house, Miranda dressed up! We walked to the front door, and my mom gave her candy! She was SOOOO excited!!! She kept saying 'Happy Halloween!' And posed for pictures! About 10 minutes later she was back in her PJs and happy as a clam! She kept saying she went trick or treating! Gotta love being 2!

Miranda's new love - M&Ms!!!

She loved Trick or Treating at Grandma's House!

Part 2 -
NJ rescheduled Halloween for Monday (about  days after Halloween -Oct 31). So when Miranda got home from school, back in her costume she went! This was her FIRST Trick or Treating by herself! Last yr she was sick (and supposed to be Minnie Mouse), and the yr before she was 2 months old and I knocked on my neighbors door holding Miranda and went back inside! :-) Although we did attend a Halloween party that year where she worse her Lady Bug costume :-)
So this year, Miranda got in her 50's girl costume, grabbed her pumpkin basket and out the door we went! She was very apprehensive about going up to people so she would slowly take the candy from their bowl and put in her basket! It was awesome!!
However, many neighbors forgot the day was moved so we headed to the mall who was holding Halloween as well. I guess the whole county knew about it b/c it was a mob scene! Miranda managed to get some candy at the stores who still had candy left. we ended the night on a ride on the Merry-Go-Round and dinner at Perkins :-)

Miranda's 1st time T&T on her own!! (the past 2yrs, we held her!) :-)

Seriously, this kid LOVE Halloween!!

Then we headed to the Mall...

What trip to the mall would be complete without a ride on the merry-go round! :-)

Sitting in "the big girl chair" on the merry go round

Part 3 -
Miranda's school held a Halloween parade and our little 50's girl was ready to rock  & roll! It was so fun walking into her school and seeing all the little kiddies all dressed up! I felt like we were going back stage at a school play b/c of all of the costumes! Miranda got super excited when Mike and I walked in! In fact she wanted us in the parade with her! An even more exciting moment for Miranda was that she was allowed in Imagination Land which is for Potty trained kids only, and they let all of the kids play in there...she had a blast!!

Big hugs for daddy!!

Parade Time!

I'd say that a three part Halloween definitely was a fun time for Miranda! :)
