Let The Work In The Nursery Begin!

I am super psyched! Today we were able to take away the mattress and kitchen table that have been sitting in what will be the nursery! We rented a U-Haul van and Mike loaded it up with big pieces, and other items as well. The room feels so much bigger now, and I can't wait to begin working in there! When we get back from our babymoon, we will get the paint and Mike will start in there. I will also get the clothes all hung up, but that's only for now. I just want them out of bags and off the floor. In another few weeks I have a big load of laundry to do with cleaning all her clothes! :-) Furniture will be delivered and put together on July 19th! I can't wait! :-)

Here is an idea of colors and the room palette. I found a few pieces on Etsy and might not use all of them, but this is a general idea so far :-)
(The walls will be a light lilac/lavender with light green accents)

Tomorrow, we leave for Washington D.C. :-) Babymoon here we come!!!

30 Weeks!!!! That Means Only 10 Left!!!

Yes, 10 weeks to go!! Actually, 9 weeks...My doc moved my due date up this week to August 27th! My little girl has a birthday :-)
This whole experience has been surreal, but so amazing!!
News from this week -
- New Due date - 8/27/10
- Tingly/numb hands and feet - Lesson learned, stay SUPER hydrated at all times. I even saw a post about drinking about 200oz of water! I think I'm doing that. My water bottle is attached at my hip!
- Our Sweet pea is becoming more active :-) She is moving where I can actually see my belly lean towards to right side! So crazy awesome!
- I am all registered with the hospital! It's official, b/c an OR is booked, and I am all set for 8/27! WooHoo!!!
- I sported my first maternity bathing suit - IN PUBLIC!! Haha! :-)
- We signed up for and received our Cord Blood Registry kit. So we just need to bring it to the hospital when Sweet Pea is born, but we should be good to go!

Ma and I had our first day of summer girls day complete with pedicures, and a wonderful dinner at The Avenue in Pier Village -

Mike and I enjoyed a METS game and here I am at 30 weeks sporting my METS Maternity T-Shirt :-) -

This week, Mike and I take our Babymoon to Washington D.C.! I'm so excited to get away with my babe :-)

Date Night :-)

So hubbs and I went to see 'Toy Story 3' in 3D last night:-) (great movie by the way!) He asked me in the afternoon if I wanted to see a movie, and I was so excited! I love nights of just us. I am so in love with my hubby and love spending time with him. We only have about 9-10 weeks left of just us. How crazy is that?!?! However, I strongly believe in the couple still having date nights, time for eachother, and I hope we make that happen. I can't even wait to hold our baby girl, and be a threesome, but it has been just us for almost 11 years! (yes, 11 years on Sept. 28th!) so it will be an adjustment, but one we are sooo excited for! Good things are coming. I can feel it. :-)

Hubbs Felt Sweet Pea Kick!!!

This morning I was about to get out of bed, and she started moving like crazy. My belly looked like jello moving! (gross and weird I know but it's the best way to describe it!) Mike woke up and i was like, give me your hand! He placed his hand on my belly and she stopped (of course!) Then I said, just wait for a second, and boom! There she was! he was like, "was that it?" I said, "yes!" He smiled and was like, "Wow, that's weird!" Haha!!! (he's so cute!!) I have been waiting for this day, b/c It's one thing for me, as my body changes, and now I feel her (even through my anterior placenta), but for Mike to feel her is sooooo cool!!!:-) Yay!!!!

29 weeks :-)

It's so weird to think in 11 weeks I will be a mom!!! Holding MY child!!! It's all I kept thinking leading up to this week! I mean, 11 weeks is actually a lot of time, however, it's also going to fly!

This past week had more nursery filled excitement!
-Our Rocker was delivered!! (we now need to put it together!)
-The slip cover for the rocker arrived. It's a bit darker than I hoped, but maybe out of the box, and on the chair it will look different

The hubbs also celebrated his Father's Day To Be yesterday!! :-) I gave him his diaper bag (called the diaper dude!), and also one of the Rockabye Baby CDs with Bob Marley. He was very happy :-)

Survey time again:

How far along?: 29 weeks. (woah baby! 1 more till 30!!)
Total weight gain: 23 pounds! I'm still trying my best to keep within the 25-35 lb range so looks like I'm leaning more towards 30 lbs by the end of this pregnancy. My doc is very happy with the progress though, and says I am right on target!
How big is baby?: A little over 2lbs (I think) - might be more, but they did not measure the baby this week.
Maternity clothes?: Yep. Although my pic from this week is non-maternity - KOHL'S! :-) (thank you Daisy Fuentes!)
Stretch marks?: Thankfully no more than from what I found on week 9! LOVE MY BIO OIL!
Sleep?:I guess I was slightly better this week b/c I only woke up in the night once for a few hours and fell back to sleep on the couch.
Best moment this week?: Seeing my belly move for the first time!! Also, having our Dorel Rocker arrive!!
Movement?: So get this, I have an Anterior Placenta! Yes, that's correct. and the doc just told me for the first time this week! So that means the baby is kicking into the placenta, which is why I did not feel the movements as strong for the past few weeks! UGH...Anyway, She has been moving alot this week. I even saw my belly move!! That was crazy!!
Food cravings?: Gimmie Ice Cream!!
Labor signs?: Thankfully - NO! She has 11 more weeks to cook in there :-)
Belly button in or out?: Still in, but it's starting to flatten out.
What I miss: Doing something without thinking. I was at a BBQ this weekend, and wanted to just sit back, have a beer, and play beer pong. I sat back, had a water bottle, and got sleepy about 9:30pm! haha!
What I'm looking forward to: Starting on the nursery finally!
Milestone: Seeing my belly move had to be the milestone of the week! I mean, when your belly moves out of no where, it's a bit freaky! (yet one of the coolest things I think I've ever seen!)

3rd Tri Is Kicking My Booty!

I am soooooo tired...no, check that - EXHAUSTED!! I mean, seriously & beyond exhausted. It takes all the energy I have to get out of bed, and actually shower! I mean, seriously, who does this happen to (and if you're reading now and it happened to you during pregnancy, please comment back because I feel so crappy, I can use support!) I have been sleeping better this week, because last week was Nick at Night TV at 3am for me. This week is just tons of tossing and turning. Followed by weird dreams...It's weird because both hubbs and I had the same dream last night. Apparently I'm giving birth to a baby the size of a 2 yr old! Haha!

In any case. I'm trying to get my energy to finish work for the day and get things done around the house. I want to get the amazing clothes we have been given out of the bags and into the closet, but I need to stand to do that, and standing takes energy...Ugh...29 weeks tomorrow, maybe that means energy as a 29 week gift? (one can only hope!) :-)

Yep, this is me...tired, but trying to keep my eyes open -

28 Weeks - 7 Months!

7 months means 2 months to go until we meet our sweet baby girl!!! I can not even believe it!
This past week was exciting with many fun things that occurred:
- I passed my GD test (studied really hard! haha!) For those who don't know, that's my Glucose Tolerance test, otherwise known to check to diabetes, and thankfully, I'm all clear!
- Mike's work threw him a surprise baby shower (and I was a surprise guest!)
- We ordered our rocker!
- I cleared out more space in what will be the nursery (yes, including more of my clothes! Teehee!)
- I found the best deal on Craigslist for a princess bookcase in white!! I'm in love with it!!! (pix to come)

I'd say that the end of our 6 months ended very happy :-)
The start of 7 months started happy as well with a successful garage sale at my mom's house, followed by a great dinner with our good college friends, Colleen & Tom and their adorable son, Anthony.

We Ordered Our Rocker!!!

I am soooo excited! I have read good reviews online about this chair, so I hope it's as good as people say :-) We ordered it, and it will be delivered in 2 weeks!!! It's a nice beige/white color and it's a big chair, rather than a glider. I think it will be perfect! I'm already seeing myself nursing my little girl while sitting in this fabu chair!

Our 2nd Baby Shower :-)

Mike's work friends are just so sweet!! They threw him a baby shower today and invited me to surprise him! Unfortunately, he walked in on them setting everything up, but he was not expecting it, so he was still surprised :-) He also was not expecting me to show, and yet, there I was!
They were so sweet and got us a newborn rocker, onsies, METS jump suit, a handmade blanket (which is so soft!!) and more. The thoughtfulness was just so sweet.
Thank you again to the NBTHS crew! You guys are wonderful!

Me with my lovely co-workers!!

Me with my presents - These ladies were super generous!

Each person was asked to bring in their favorite childhood book. then we went around the table sharing why it was their favorite. This means so much to me b/c I wanted to start Sweet Pea's library, and now I can!

27 WEEKS = THIRD TRIMESTER!!!!!!!!

Oh My Goodness!!!!!! I'm in my third and last trimester!! There are no more after this!!! (well technically the first 3 months of baby are the 4th tri, but you know what I mean). I can't even believe this!!! I'm sooooo excited!!!! I know I say this every week, but I really can't believe how fast the time is flying!! I mean, I feel I just announced the pregnancy, and now we have less then 90 days!!! :-)
We have so much to still do. Sweet Pea's room still has a kitchen table and mattress in it, but we should be clearing those out by the end of the month. I started to go through her closet. It was my closet, and now I don't know what to do with my clothes! Haha! I have big sweater jackets and gowns galore...I was thinking about the air bags but I don't want to forget about the clothes I have in there if I seal them up...Oy vey...I'm not sure what we will do yet for her closet. Times a ticken though, and I gotta get this room in tip top shape before my little girl is here to see it! :-)

I figure for my 3rd Trimester post, I'll add another survey -

How far along?: 27 weeks
How big is baby?: Approx. 2 lbs
Weight Gain?: YEP! However, I think it's all belly and boobs! Haha! I don't know an exact number b/c my appt is not for another week (and I refuse to own a scale!) :-)
Stretch Marks?: Same ones I have had from the get go
::crosses fingers & toes is stays this way::
Have I mentioned how in love with Bio Oil I am! :-)
Maternity Clothes?: YES!. Every now and then I can wear a top that's stretchy or loose and be fine, but overall I'm more comfy in clothes that just hug my belly better. I did, however, find a cute dress at Kohl's from Daisy Fuentes, non maternity, but plenty of room for growth, so I got that for summer :-)
Sleep?: Ah, yes, the burning question! Yes and no is my answer. I still need naps and can be out for 2 hours! I also had trouble sleeping this past week, and was up what seemed like every hour. (Did you know the Cosby show is on from 3:30am to 5:30am on Nick at Nite!)
Best Moment this week?: Entering my 3rd trimester and being super surprised by my co-workers with my baby shower!
Food Cravings?: Ice Cream and Hummus (not together though!) Haha!
Gender?: GIRL!!!
Movement?: Some days stronger than others. I'm not sure what I'm feeling but she is moving around.
What I miss?: Being able to lie down without my lovely boppy pillow, drinking an ice cold beer on a hot day, and just not having to think before doing something whether it be eating, sleeping, etc.
Belly Button?: Still an innie :-)
Labor Signs?: No, but how about in 13 weeks?!?! I actually did have a weird pain, but the doc thinks it's round ligament pain, and not contractions! Umm, yea, I did not think it was contractions, but she had to put that thought in my head! Good grief! :-)
What I'm looking forward to?: Putting the Nursery together.
Milestone: Reaching the 3rd trimester!! YAY!!!!

And my 27 week belly shot :-)

My Surprise Baby Shower from my Work Friends!!

I seriously can not stop smiling!!! I stayed in Hoboken last night (at the W dontcha know) because we had a district meeting this morning. The meeting was very productive and informative. After, my manager had planned for us to get lunch in NYC. I assumed this was just a lunch, but boy was I wrong!! We walked over to Dos Caminos on 14th & 9th and I walked in, and saw a few of my girlfriends from the office. Then the girls from my district all turn around and surround me, and next thing I hear is "Surprise! It's Your Baby Shower!" I was seriously in shock! I just stood there taking it all in, and then the tears began!! Haha! I started to cry b/c it was just so sweet of all of them! After many hugs, we sat down, and had the best guacamole ever! The menu had my name on it!! (I ordered enchiladas! YUM!)
I seriously have the best co-workers, as they started off by each giving me a book that they loved as a child! This begins Sweet Pea's library, which is so important to me! The stories from each of the girls was so sweet, and to be able to share them with each other, was a fabulous idea! After lunch, they had more gifts for me (well really for Sweet pea, but I had to open them...hehe)Each of them are just so thoughtful and generous! Sweet pea took home so many beautiful items, and I just can't begin to thank these lovely ladies enough!!! If you are reading this blog now - THANK YOU!!!! :-) I have not stopped smiling all day! :-)

Babymoon Booked!!!

Yes, that's right people! Hubbs and I are going away on a much needed vaca!! With all the crap that has been happening, we need to just get away, just the two of us. So we booked Washington D.C. over July 4th weekend!! I can't wait! Any time I have to be alone with hubbs makes me so happy. It's important to have that time with just each other, and I am so exited to just get away, but also see some amazing sites together(and yes, a Mets/Nationals game too)! :-) Plus I heard the fireworks over the mall is incredible!! Yay!!! Only a few more weeks! :-)
