Merry Christmas! Miranda's 1st! :-)

We took Miranda to Twin Pond Farms to get our Christmas tree. It was very cold out, but we got a really nice Frasier Fur. We let the tree settle for a night, and then we decorated in pure tradition -We Watched 'Love Actually' - Baby Girl could not stay up, but daddy & mommy got the tree all set up!

Nana & Papa got Miranda her very own Mickey Mouse Christmas Tree! Every year, we will put a little present under the tree for her to see first thing when she wakes up Christmas morning :-)

Well, unfortunately, I was sick, so I had to stay home on Christmas eve, but Mike took Miranda to his parents in the most adorable outfit! :-) Before they left, we grabbed some pictures of our baby girl by the tree:







Then Christmas morning, mommy was still sick, however, I planned on starting a new tradition with breakfast, and so it began!
Cinnamon French Toast, Cinnabuns and Turkey Bacon! YUUUUMMMMOOOOO!!!!

We put Miranda into Mike's 1st Christmas outfit from 1980. Mike was 8months old at the time, so although it's big on her, it's so cute! She kept trying to eat it b/c her fingers were covered, and she loves to eat her fingers!






Christmas Day we went to Nana & Papa's house. Miranda got her first American Girl doll, a Bitty Baby and so much more! Miranda is such a blessed little girl because so many people love her!

A Year Ago Today....

We found out news that would change our lives forever...I was pregnant!!!

We had just been at a holiday party two nights earlier. I had a sip of white wine, and thought it tasted awful! (I never think that) Mike thought it tasted fine, so he got me a glass of red, and I thought it tasted even worse than the white wine! So I stuck with water the whole night, but something kept telling me, I'm pregnant. My body was feeling different, and now I did not like wine! (haha) So I planned to test the next day, but rather than get my hopes up, I waited until the following morning after that, which happened to be Christmas Even morning. Mike woke up early for some reason and was playing video games in the living room. I jumped out of bed, and tested right then and there! I could not believe my eyes when I saw a faint line on a stick!! I took 3 more after that, including one that read the word - 'PREGNANT'! It was official!! I took the tests, and walked into the living room. I was crying tears of joy already, and started talking to Mike. He thought I was upset b/c my great Aunt Connie had passed away in Florida the day before. I was very upset about that, however, these were tears of happiness. I told him the words I always wanted to say (for all you 'It's a Wonderful Life Fans out there) 'Michael lassos stork!" Yes, that's right! We were having a baby!!! We both cried, and hugged, and laughed, in disbelief! I took one of Mike's old white t-shirts and took a sharpie marker to it and wrote, 'I'm Pregnant' on it. Then we went to the card store to find grandma/grandpa items for all the grandparents! Although Christmas eve, we drove up north to my mom's house to tell her and Josh. They were shocked and sooo happy! Then we had to keep it a secret for the rest of the night at Mike's parents house. On Christmas morning, we told his family as the last present. Once they opened their presents, they looked up, and saw me wearing the 'I'm Pregnant' t-shirt :-) They were sooo excited!! The next day, we drove to Long Island, and told my dad and step mom who were just thrilled!


12/24/09 - The day that changed our lives forever. Today, 12/24/10 we have a happy 3 month (almost 4 month) baby girl named Miranda Rose! :-)

Back To Work...

It's not easy, but it has to be done. I just get so wrapped up in work, and feel very behind for not having been here in 3 months...I know I need to work, but Miranda is in the next room and I just want to play with her. She's getting older and doing more 'tricks' and I don't want to miss them :-(

Miranda likes when I play 'Where is Thumbkin' with her! It makes her laugh :-) She likes when Mike 'jumps on her belly' and of course she LOVES HER FINGERS!! She is starting to be a thumb sucker! I know...But I think it's OK right now. It sort of soothes her, so I think it's OK....for now...

Last night we upped her ounces b/c she is growing again, and she actually held the bottle on her own! It was adorable!!


I just want to see her do everything, and don't want to miss anything...but as I type this I'm on yet another conference call with lots to follow-up on. It's all good, but it's just an adjustment...One day at a time...
