9 Weeks!!

I do not know where the time is flying, but It's been 9 weeks! I am still feeling good, but exhausted. It's all normal, but the exhaustion has become insane! I yearn for coffee, but napping helps too! This week I had to present for a night class at Rutgers, and got there early. I put my seat down in the car, set cell phone alarm, closed eyes, and before I knew it, a whole hour went by! I'm tired but so happy so it's all good!!! :-)

A...Maz...(Wait for it...)...ING!!!!!!!

We heard the heartbeat again!!! Tonight was our 2nd doc appt and my last internal! :-) It was amazing how much Baby grew in 2 weeks! Now you can clearly see the head, little armies and lil leggies!!! It was very cool! The heart is beating over 181 beats per minute! It was such a strong heart and is such a healthy baby!!! Mommy is doing good too! I lost 2 pounds! But the doc said that is very normal, so I'm doing well :-)
Next appt is the First Trimester Screening followed by another regular check up a few days after that.
It becomes more real each time we hear the heart, but wow...that sound is A...Maz...Ing!!!! :-)

Here is our sonogram from today. Since it is a bit hard to see scanned in, I tried to edit it so you can see where the parts of body are...(I tried!) You can actually see the baby very clear when she first did the sonogram, but she did not get that picture...It's all about the right picture people! Haha!
(BTW, the ball thing next to the feet is the amniotic sac.)
The doc said everything looked great! I can't believe I'm 8 weeks and 3 days already!!

8 weeks!!!

Where did 2 months fly by!?!? I seriously do not know! But this journey has been amazing and it's only going to get better!!! :-)
To add a little humor I saw these posted the other day and had to add them to my blog:

Pregnancy Jokes -

Q. Should I have a baby after 35?
A. No, 35 children is enough.

Q. When will my baby move?
A. With any luck, right after he finishes high school.

Q. How will I know if my vomiting is morning sickness or the flu?
A. If it's the flu, you'll get better.

Q. Since I became pregnant, my breasts, rear-end, and even my feet have grown. Is there anything that gets smaller during pregnancy?
A. Yes, your bladder.

Q. What is the most common pregnancy craving?
A. For men to be the ones who get pregnant.

Q. What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
A. Childbirth.

Q. The more pregnant I get, the more often strangers smile at me. Why?
A. 'Cause you're fatter than they are.

Q. My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.
A. So what's your question?

Q. What's the difference between a nine-month pregnant woman and a model?
A. Nothing, if the pregnant woman's husband knows what's good for him.

Q. How long is the average woman in labor?
A. Whatever she says, divided by two.

Q. My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A. Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q. When is the best time to get an epidural?
A. Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q. Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A. Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.

Q. What does it mean when the baby's head is crowning?
A. It means you feel as though not only a crown but the entire throne is trying to make its way out of you.

Q. Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A. Yes, pregnancy.

Q. Does pregnancy cause hemorrhoids?
A. Pregnancy causes anything you want to blame it for.

Q. Where is the best place to store breast milk?
A. In your breasts.

Q. Is there a safe alternative to breast pumps?
A. Yes, baby lips.

Q. What does it mean when a baby is born with teeth?
A. It means that the baby's mother may want to rethink her plans to nurse.

Q. How does one sanitize nipples?
A. Bathe daily and wear a clean bra. It beats boiling them in a saucepan.

Q. What are the terrible twos?
A. Your breasts after baby stops nursing cold turkey.

Q. What is the best time to wean the baby from nursing?
A. When you see teeth marks.

Q. Do I have to have a baby shower?
A. Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.

Q. Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A. When the kids are in college.

Finally, Here is me at 8 weeks and my brand new 'Mom In Training' T Shirt!!

Tests, Tests, & More Tests

Mike and I both already had the genetics test a few years ago, but they need more blood work from me to make sure Mommy and Baby K are both OK! :-) Lab Corp works so weird though b/c it's like a revolving door of people! I went to Quest to start, but my prescription was for Lab Corp, so where as Quest was nice and empty, with a TV, Lab Corp was packed and dark...with no TV! Anyway, they took my personal info, and got down to business...I just want to know, how many more cups will I have to pee in people!?!? Haha! I had so much blood drawn today that I do not know how I am still standing! The lady had what looked like two handfuls of viles!! (Ok, it wasn't that much, but you get the idea!)
I also have official dates for my 1st Trimester screening and Level II Ultrasound!:-) Mike and I will go back to the doc this Wednesday on the 27th! I can't wait to see our baby again!!! :-)

I'm Sooooo Tired!

So today was the first day of the semester at Monmouth, and back to work I went! I had trouble waking up b/c Mike and I were spooked by our TV audio going on...Not the TV, nor the Cable, just the audio in the living room! It was soooo freaky!!! Needless to say, that was 2:30am and I could not go back to bed till closer to 4...So when it was time to wake up, it was like I was being tortured! Haha! :-)
I made it thru my presentation, and few meetings, went to the gym, food store, and now I want to collapse...I have a really early presentation tomorrow, followed by two later ones, and Thursday is an all day even for me (8am thru 6:30pm with presentations!) I really would LOVE some coffee right now...

How I miss you so....
:-)

Telling the news!

Mike leaves for Michigan tonight with John, and Mike will be telling Grandma Kucyk in person! I'm so excited for her to find out!!! We made a copy of the sonogram and added it to her card that says Congrats on your Great grandchild! :-) I'm so excited to hear how it goes!

I'm starting the survey! Here is my first one :-)

*How far along?: 6 weeks, 7 days

*Total weight gain: None, but doc says only gain 2-4 pound in the first 3 months, so I'm doing well :-)

*How big is baby?: About an inch! How little!

*Maternity clothes?: Nope! (Trying to stay away from them, until really needed :-) )

*Stretch Marks?: Thankfully no, but I can also thank good ol' Palmers too! Yes, I have been attacking my body with that stuff every day!

*Sleep?: I am tired, but it's not been as crazy without coffee as I thought. I did go cold turkey, and no headaches, no craziness, but mid day, I really dream of DD's...Yes, I seriously sit here and day dream of a beautiful, large DD French Vanilla coffee....Ahhh...

*Best moment this week?: Hearing the baby's heartbeat and receiving our first baby photo!!

*Food cravings: Not sure. I hear someone say something, and then all of a sudden, I must have it! Like yesterday, Kristina on GH mentioned popcorn. I have not had popcorn in so long. When Mike came home, I asked him, Want popcorn!? Haha! I did that the other day with pizza and PB&J too! Then when I have it, it's like my new favorite thing! So weird!

*Labor Signs: Hells no!

*Belly button in or out?: Innie :)

*What I miss: Knowing what is going on in my body...I'm cautious of what I eat, drink, how I exercises etc...But I'd like a plate of nachos with Mexican cheese and an ice cold beer b/c I can't have either! :-) Haha!

*What I'm looking forward to: My Baby Bump...I think it will feel even more real when I am showing!

*Milestone: Everyday!! This is an amazing experience and everyday gets better!

We Heard The Heart Beat!! 1st Appt!! :-)

All I can say is...Wow!!! Hearing the heartbeat was surreal!! I was nervous and excited all day, and once we walked in to the office, I thought I'd be OK. They had us waiting b/c the doctor was behind and then when we got into the room, they had us wait again! Mike kept me laughing and even did a little tap dance! Haha! He kept me distracted b/c he knew how nervous I was. The doctor did an internal exam and ultrasound. I am 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant! The heartbeat was 121bpm, which is exactly where is should be for this time frame! It's so surreal! I know I keep saying it, but it really is. There is a growing baby inside of me!! Holy Moly!!! :-) We got our baby's first pictures to keep. But when the doc turned on the sound so we can HEAR the heartbeat, that was when it felt really real! the doctor showed us that the baby is pressed up against my uterus, so it was hard to see. Then she spoke about the heartbeat. She pointed to where the little flutter was, and I thought she meant the larger image. I said "Is that the heart?" She replied with "That's the whole baby!" Haha! Our baby is about an inch right now! :-) I'm in love already!

Our Baby's First Picture!

The little spot on the upper left side of the first picture is our baby!!

Well that was scary...

They say things will happen to your body and you do not know why...Well today I saw some light pink spotting on tissue paper and freaked out! It was so minimal though, but I called the doctor, and her nurse called me back shortly after. It's very normal for spotting or even light bleeding b/c so many things are stretching, changing, moving and grooving in there, so she said not to worry (followed by, if you see more, go to the ER!) They know how to make you calm and freaked out all at once! Anyway, I'm A OK and have not seen any spotting again since, and since it was super light earlier, the doc said not to worry but they'll make sure at tomorrow's appointment :-) I can't wait to hear my baby's heartbeat!!! :-)

Prenatal Work-outs

Not to shabby! I tried the DVD from Summer Sanders, and this thing works! She splits it into tri-mesters and is VERY pregnant for all three segments. I started it yesterday and then did the express one today. It's a great video and you'll definitely feel it!!

I Made It To The End Of The Week!

The meeting is over! WooHoo! I completed this week of LIES! Haha! It was very hard to lie to so many people when they asked why I was not having a drink, or coffee! But I managed. I faked it as well by ordering tonic and lime, so no one thought I wasn't drinking. One day at dinner, I asked for a glass of wine, but had the waiter only pour a little, so it looked like I drank more than I did! Haha!
The awards banquet was last night, and it was a blast! I made consist ant achievement!!! Three out of three years I have made my number, and it was acknowledged last night!! Very cool! More plaques for the wall! :-)

One Week From Today!!

In one week Mike and I get to hear the heart beat of our baby!! How crazy is that!?!? I seriously am so excited and can not wait until that appointment!

I also am excited to speak to the doctor b/c I have been having some sharp pains on my lower right side. I read on the chat board that many girls have this and it's normal, so I am hoping for the best. I have also noticed other body changes, and am excited to speak to the doctor in more detail about ALL OF IT! :-)

So I'm at my Sales meeting still and lying to everyone!!! It's so hard! I mean, really hard! People know me to have a glass of wine or coffee, etc, and I am not able to. Instead I am asking for milk, and drinking a crap load of water! (boy, times are changing!)I'm rooming with a close friend and I wonder if she knows if anything is up, b/c we went out to dinner and I ordered a virgin drink but I told I did not feel well. However, I was only partly lying b/c my side really did hurt. I stayed away from Mexican cheese though. At lunch today, they had yet another deli meat day, so I tracked down the head of the kitchen and he assured me all meat is made on premise and cut here as well, so i felt more at ease....Have I mentioned I can't wait to speak to the doctor!!! :-)

5 Weeks!

According to the way they would calculate due dates, I should be at 5 weeks :-) So here is my first belly picture!! I have baby bloat going on, but that's about it :-)

I Feel So Confused...

It's one thing when you have to take care of your own body, but it's a whole new world knowing you have to be extra careful about routine things. I find myself afraid to eat the wrong thing, sleep the wrong way, even use the wrong moisturizer! The first trimester is very scary b/c everything is so new. You, as the mommy-to-be, also know NOTHING! I keep saying that I'll feel better when I am able to speak to the doctor (Jan 13th). (Hubbs laughs at me b/c I say that at least 20 times a day!)

The other day, I thought I'd be pro-active and go to B&N and look/buy the baby books. Well that was a huge mistake. An hour and a half later I was more confused and terrified than ever! That 'What to Expect when You're Expecting' is so confusing and makes you second guess everything! Needless to say, I walked out with Jenny McCarthy's 'Belly Laughs' b/c I needed a good laugh after that awful experience!

Today was a great day though. My mom came down for a visit, and I really needed mom time. She was able to put my mind at ease on many fronts, plus give great advice for some of my fears. We look at books together, and from reading many reviews, settled on the 'Your Baby, Week by Week' book. I have heard great things about this book, and it was not scary like the WTEWYE book. I also got a great workout video (well the Amazon reviews say it's great!) from Summer Sanders. My mom treated me to 'The Belly Book' Which is part journal where you can include pictures from the whole pregnancy. (Thank you for the recommendation Colleen!!). I feel much better after my day out with my mom.

Tomorrow I leave for my Global Sales Meeting in Washington D.C. - Let's hope I'm able to fake my 'Sinus Infection/Bronchitis' for the week!
