Snow Day! (In November!!)

Since we got 13 inches of snow, we made the best of it! Mike was unable to drive to work, and we did not want Miranda to be in school. So although I worked from home, we did take time to enjoy the snow over my lunch break. And enjoy the snow we did!!

Mike said I dressed like her the kid from a Christmas Story! But she stayed warm! :-)

So much fun!

Cutest Voice In The Snow :)

Cheese!
Snow ball fight! (sort of!)

We went for a walk in our development and saw this tree!! Needless to say, cars could not go around it. there was a lot of trees down in our area due to them being so weak from the Hurricane last week...

We kept walking and Miranda found snow banks to play in!

Snow fun with daddy:-)

This sums up PERFECTLY how Miranda felt playing in the snow :-)

Now a NorEaster?

Yes! And her name is Athena...We not only are still cleaning up from last week's hurricane, but now we have a nor easter....Freehold got 13 inches of snow!!! The town next to us though got 4?!?! How did that happen?

Making the Most of An Awful Situation

In the wake of Sandy, we lost power for about 4 days....not bad considering some are still without 10 days later! Its been a crazy few days....

The first day we figured we'll make the most of our time, and Mike built the table we bought Miranda for her birthday. She LOVES it!!

At night, it was really dark, so we read stories by flashlight

On day 3, we cuddled in the "big bed" to watch Cinderella on DVD and eat cookies :-)

We then got to cold and went to my mom's house for the night. Luckily our neighbor called us to let us know power came back. We then became a hotel for friends and family. People without power were able to come over and get clean, sleep, eat, etc

Miranda and I went to donate a bunch of bags to our local fire dept who was delivering the items to a shore town that needed them. We dropped off 6 bags filled with toys, clothes, baby items, food, cleaning items and more. Miranda was soo excited to donate. She said the word over and over. When we got there, the place was packed with so many generous donations. I told Miranda she did a Mitzvah. She was so proud and smiling the whole time. It was a really nice moment.

May those affected so horribly by this awful hurricane be looked after and watched over. Our thoughts and prayers are with them today and always.

Hurricane Sandy...

This has been the hardest week the states of NJ and NY have felt in a long time due to weather... 1903 was the last true hurricane to hit NJ and now, October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy came thru leaving so much devastation in it's path... The NJ shore has been washed away... Homes in Staten Island have been washed away, 151 homes in Queens have been burned away... And the list goes on... What we knew as the Jersey shore is no longer there.. Fun time pier in Seaside actually washed out to sea...

Mike proposed to me at Point Pleasant Beach next to Martels, We lived in Bradley Beach for 3yrs and had our engagement pictures taken there, Spent many a fun night in Belmar, Ran with Mike on the boardwalk in Avon and Spring Lake, Took our...daughter to Asbury Beach for family pictures, Miranda had her first beach day in Ocean Grove (including a trip to Nagels), Many bach parties in Atlantic City as well as Teacher Convention weekends, Miranda rode her first ride by herself in Pt Pier, and just two weeks ago we raised over $1million dollars with 20,000 people for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Pt. Pleasant....
And now it's all gone... One night, wind, rain, and places we knew and loved, washed away, just like that... It breaks my heart...

We will rebuild, We will have our beaches, We will bring back the Jersey Shore...

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2012

This year my mom celebrated 10yrs cancer free!!!! It's a huge accomplishment, but it did not go without hard work and strength! These past 10 yrs my mom received both Chemo and radiation. She had a few surgeries, including two (yes 2!) knee replacements. She started her own business (PozPhoto Photography), saw both her kids not only get married but welcome our children and now she is a grandma three times over!

I do fundraising every year for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer with the American Cancer Society but this year was just so special (they all are, but you know what I mean) :-)
Team Success was back and better then ever! We raised $1308!!! Plus my company might match more too! It's a true honor and blessing to be the Team captain of such a thoughtful and generous group. Friends and family all over donated and I can begin to thank you all enough!

We walked in Point Pleasant Beach with 20,000 other walkers! In total we all raised $1.18million dollars!!!! Here are some FABULOUS pictures from the FABULOUS day! :-)

Team Success 2012!

A great day with great people and a great cause!!!! This was a wonderful day! :-)

Pumpkin Carving!!

I have been wanting to carve a pumpkin with Miranda and since we had a big pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, this was the perfect time to do it!
I set up the paper on kitchen floor, put bowls down for "gooey guts" and yummy seeds and we began!

I carved the top of pumpkin & Miranda helped pull off the lid.

How spookkkyyy is this picture!!

Attempting to take the lid off was funny!

Mommy trying very hard to pull off the lid!

It's Open!! Yay!

Then we dove in!! So gross but so fun!!

Once our pumpkin was all clean, I began carving :) I bought a cute kit at CVS with designs and tried to make a ghost! I must say I did a good job! ( if you knew what I used to do you'd be impressed too!) :)

Our pumpkin with the design under it :-)

Final Product!

Miranda decided his name should be 'Pluto the Pumpkin' (she had been watching Mickey mouse clubhouse! Haha) :)

Getting funky with my editing skills :-)

Let me introduce you to Pluto the Pumpkin! :)

BOO!!!

Happy Halloween!! :)
